Every week that goes by, we look around at the things going on in life to draft our top 5. This week, Christian finally picked up his Golden Retriever puppy. Voltaire, welcome to the family, and welcome to this weeks top five. Top Dog Things. Let’s Go!

Top Dog Things

Alex’s Top Five:

  1. Unconditional Love: A dog loves you WAY more than you love them. Through thick and thin a dog will forget everything bad thing you’ve ever done as soon as you look as it and smile. They love you so much it hurts.
  2. Loyalty: Coupling with the unconditional love, dogs are loyal. Being pack animals, they want to be with their “group.” Often times with dogs, outsiders are welcome, but they are 100% loyal to their family. Dogs give the loyalty, and ask for nothing on return except maybe some good boy/ girl scratches.
  3. Zoomies: At some point in every dogs day, usually at night when it’s time to be quiet, they get random bursts of uncontrollable energy. What do you do with said energy? You run, and run, and run, as fast as you can, jumping and getting all of it out. Truly one of the funniest, and best parts of a night with 3 dogs.
  4. Fetch: Of my 3 dogs, only 1 truly loves playing fetch, and she’d do it until she literally died if I let her. Fetch is a great way to play, and get out a bunch of energy from the rambunctious dogs, while also giving you bonding time with your fluffy one.
  5. Pick-Up Women: If you’re single, and you have a friendly dog, take it to the park. If nothing else, a dog is a great ice breaker. Worst case scenario, the women adopt the dog from you, and you’re back to square one. Lonely.

Christian’s Top Five:

  1. Best Friend: Dogs are humans best friends. This one thing covers almost an entire list of traits because the love, loyalty, etc give the dog the companion and the human the companion both desire.
  2. Dog Humor: Dogs are funny. You add in the zoomies, the way they play, roll over, sleep on their backs. Dogs have a way of brightening any situation. Sure they can’t tell the funniest jokes, but their timing is absolutely impeccable. Give a dog thumbs and they’d quickly take over the world.
  3. Work: Dogs are established work animals to varying degress. Some are farm hands, some police dogs, while some tend to the mental health, or service needs, dogs are diverse in their ability to do certain jobs assisting humans. These types of jobs showcase their loyalty and willingness to serve, but also their compassion. A dog with a purpose can be a very fulfilled and happy dog.
  4. Air Bud: Renowned Hooper, Soccer Star, Football Legend, the list goes on. Air Bud, was at one time a household name, taking over the streets of Disney with his sports ability and knack for choosing right over wrong. Air Bud went on to have multiple pups that have sense taken over in their fathers footsteps. At one point even saving Christmas!
  5. Dog Memes: Dog memes are hilarious. Nuff Said.
