Both fighters coming back into the octagon off of a loss, with Josh Quinlan off of 2 in a row. Quinlan, with a BJJ background, hasn’t been able to get much going with his hands through 3 fight in the UFC, only landing 92 strikes, albeit knocking out knocking out Jason Witt in his UFC debut. Adam Fugitt also hasn’t made great use of his hands in recent fights, but those fights never went the distance, and he scored 5 takeedowns winning 1 by TKO in that time. Fugitt has longer reach, and in my humble opinion a better base to get things going on the ground and make this a dirty fight.

Asu Almabayev is on a 15 fight win streak, 2-0 in the UFC, and has only finished once in his career. Jose Johnson is a crafty newcomer to the UFC as well. Johnson is 1-1 in the UFC, and has proven himself through his regional circuit (Fury FC) that he can figure out ways to win, but can he do so in Flyweight, where he couldn’t in Bantamweight? With Johnson’s 6 foot frame, and his 71.5 inch reach, will Almabayev be able to assert his usual dominance?

Brady Heistand is 2-1 in the UFC losing his debut, but coming back strong with a decision win, followed by a late ground and pound knockout. Garrett Armfield is also 2-1 in the UFC, with a similar result. These 2 matchup well, and boast similar stats in almost every category. Where Armfield has been subbed he hasn’t been knocked out, and where Heistand has been knocked out he hasn’t been subbed. This fight is going to be a big one watch out.

Timmy Cuamba’s UFC debut in the Lightweight divison was less than desirable. Cuamba landed 33/94 total strikes in a 3 round decision that saw Oki Balaji the easy victor. Lucas Almeida on a 2 fight losing streak, but this his 4th UFC fight where Almeida is the underdog, in only his 4th appearence. I think Timmy Cuamba is out here headhunting, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, whereas in this fight in particular, Lucas Almeida is going to show up swinging.

Douglas Silva de Andrade at 38 years old is barely slowing down, if at all. 3-2 in his last 5, Andrade still showing dangerous knockout power and submission ability. Miles Johns is younger, with shorter reach, but as of late, he’s had better fighting IQ to say the least. In Johns decision victories he stays patient and never gets himself into serious danger while scoring points throughout the fight. Miles Johns is 4-2 against longer reach and 5-0 against orthodox opponents in the UFC.

Alex Perez is 2-3 in his last 5, but take a look at the losses and especially to who. Figgy for the belt, sure I’ll give him that one. Pantoja, same story. Muhammed Mokaev, may not be the biggest household name, but he’s STOMPING through the division going for a chance at UFC gold himself soon. Tatsuro Taira is undefeated, 15-0, truly impressive despite what the haters say. Alex Perez is 2-3 as an underdog, making me comfortable with my main event pick.
